Persian & Afghan Rugs
We only stock hand-knotted rugs, largely from Afghanistan and Iran. They are beautiful investments, a world away from any machine-made rug. Many are vegetable dyed. Though you may find a rug similar to yours, you will never find one exactly the same - you have bought not a utilitarian object but one which was created with pride and tradition as a work of art. A large carpet may take years, rather than months, to make, and every single one represents many hours of patient, skilled work. Unlike a fitted carpet, you can take your rug with you when you move house, and they look stunning in both modern and traditional homes. They are perfect with wood, laminate or flagstone floors. Customers should note that ethnic rugs may not be colour fast and should be kept dry at all times. Our supplier recommends dry cleaning; we have found a gentle steam clean at home is effective (and chemical-free!). If, however, you find that your rug does not suit your home, we will happily give a 100% refund if you tell us within 28 days. We can also arrange a home visit locally with a selection of rugs for you to choose which one suits your room best. Ring us to arrange a date.
