pS .......

 .... a masterpiece!

please check out Liz's latest book at Amazon. 'The Damnation of John Donellan' was published on 4th August and won a 4-star review from The Times last week from Iain Finlayson: 'Cooke's analysis is a masterpiece'. Kathryn Hughes in The Mail on Sunday this week said : 'A fascinating account of a Georgian cause celebre; Elizabeth Cooke conducts a fingertip search of the evidence...just as Kate Summerscale did brilliantly in The Suspicions of Mr.Whicher, Cooke focuses on legal procedure and forensic evidence to gripping effect. In the process she manages to crack open..domestic life and emotional dramas.'

The book is available online at Amazon, Waterstones, Foyles, Smiths, etc and in all good bookshops.

RED FOX is open Thursday and Friday 10-5 and Saturday 10-1.

Red Fox - unique interiors.

Like the inquisitive, innovative fox, we're always searching for something interesting....Looking for something different or vintage? Something hand-made? Even unique? The fox has found it for you. We commend the virtues of renewing and recycling with vintage and antique - the ultimate green choice!  We also like to source from talented local artists.

Check out Roger's Arts& Crafts-inspired handmade chair this month. It's made from solid, locally-sourced Dorset oak - no cheap European imports, no laminates, no air miles.  PS our prices can't be beaten, either.

Please ignore references to Bridport and Dorchester market on our 'Contact us' page - we no longer attend these markets. All fairs and places where RED FOX stock can be seen are on THIS page. Thanks.

RED FOX GALLERY  is at Spirehill Farm, Thornhill, near Stalbridge, North Dorset (scroll down for directions). We specialise in hand-made objects: hand-made furniture, hand-knotted rugs, original art by Elizabeth Cooke, and studio pottery both old and new. The Gallery is open on Thursday and Fridays 10-5 and on Saturdays 10-1.

All furniture is handmade by Roger Cooke using seasoned English wood.

All rugs are 100% hand-knotted.We can source most sizes and patterns for you, especially Afghan Chobis.

We also have more traditional antique items and hand-knotted rugs both old and new at Dairy House Antiques (details below) which are open 7 days a week.

Our original art is by Elizabeth Cooke, who is also the novelist and writer Elizabeth McGregor. We have exhibited in Dorset Art Weeks 2008 and 2010.

We pride ourselves on excellent customer service. We make tables, shelving etc to order, and we restore antique furniture. No job too small.

We also offer a Fairtrade option in hand-knotted rugs on behalf of the charity Afghan Action. More details about this charity can be found at www.afghanaction.com

Our own SPIREHILL SHOP & workshop :  Unit 5 Spirehill Farm, near Stalbridge, North Dorset (see the map in the Contact section below). The unit has no landline but you can contact us on 07976 278056.
